Do I need prior experience?

No, the programs are designed for all levels. This is a basic introductory course.

Does it include a Certificate or Diploma?

Yes, upon completion of the program, a Certificate of Participation will be issued.

Is it in-person or online?

It depends on each program. Introduction to Specialty Coffee is available in-person and online.

What's the difference between a course, workshop, certification, and discussion group?

A course is brief, focused on a single topic, theoretical, and a Certificate of Participation is awarded. A workshop is theoretical-practical with several learning topics, and a Certificate of Participation is awarded upon completion. A Certification is an official recognition issued by an organization, can last several hours or days, and is usually for a specific topic. A Conversatorio (Conversation Circle) is an event open to the public where a group of participants discuss a coffee-related topic and integrate attendees into the dialogue. A Program is the set of all the above, aimed at the comprehensive training of a barista, roaster, cupper, or specialist in any of the areas of coffee.
